After being inactive in the transfer market for about 2 weeks, St. Lunatics finally signed 24 year old former Spanish u-21 international, David Muniz. The 24 year old signed from Valencia earlier today in a deal that is rumored to be around 3 million econs. The fans are in a joyous mood when David arrived at the club lodge this morning. He was officially unveiled as a Lunatic at around 2 P.M. This means the American side now has a total of 8 midfielders to pick from. With Tito Tristan and Luke Ware unavailable for the next game, Muniz is expected to be thrown right into action tomorrow.
Manager Cyen and assistant manager Aiden Ferrero was present together with David during the press conference. Ferrero started the press by declaring how pleased he is with the scouts that managed to spot such a talent like David, "Its amazing how the scouts do it over and over again. The special thing about the scouts in our club is that they were former players and they know the manager and me very well. That way they know what kind of player suits us. Dakota(Neely) found Muniz when he was holidaying in Spain earlier this week. He rang me straight away and we contacted the Valencia board and we got straight to business." Like many of their previous signings, David's stats was better compared to when the STX scouts first saw him. Ferrero continues to add, "Arregui, Ramsay, Kalinichenko and now Muniz were initially 6 bar players, Ramsay a 5 bar player but when they came, they were better than that. I guess we got ourselves yet another bargain."
Manager Cyen was also commented on the 24 year old, "I like players like Muniz. Just the right age and has a good footballing brain. He is exactly the cover we need when the likes of Luke(Ware) and Tito(Tristan) are out. He will definitely fit right into our system very well." When asked about Matthew Lilley's future in the club, manager Cyen is positive that the 21 year old still has a bright future in the club, "Yes we have 8 midfielders in the side right now but keep in mind that we play a traditional 4-5-1 formation and there will be enough games for all 8 of them. Lilley is no different, he will have his fair share of games. You could see what he could do a couple of days ago. He coped well with the team and had a good game against the Broke Brothas."
Next on the mic was the new boy himself, David Muniz was quick to express his delight on signing with the Americans, "I've heard a lot about St. Lunatics and I am positive I made the right move. I like challenges and the manager himself loves challenging the players so I believe things will eventually piece out by themself as time goes by. The debut game is a crucial one and I want to leave a positive impact on the fans."
