Being the favorites of the competition, St. Lunatics were expected to win tonights game comfortably but Vadern Oranje FC were surprised winners at the end as they thump St. Lunatics 4-1 in the finals. However the game got off differently as Gustavo Robredo opened the scoring but when Grierson tapped in a rebound to score the equalizer, it was a one way traffic from then on.
Here are the Lin-Ups for both teams.
With many key figures out for St. Lunatics, their manager was not convinced that they could win the cup unless Vadern Oranje FC had one of those down days but it was not meant to be. Marcel Mares and Jose-Antonio Lusarreta created so many chances for the strikers while David Muniz could only watch the ball.
Here is the timeline of the game :
2' - Zuzul started things for the Americans with a shot but it was well wide.
4' - Zuzul's 2nd shot of the game
9' - Gustavo Robredo had a great chance but he could not open the scoring, yet.
13' - Nadarev cuts in from the wing and takes a pop at the keeper.
20' - Vadern first real chance. Kingston could only see his shot fizzle over the goal.
22' - Grierson's shot.
24' - Tackle from behind, Calafato booked.
25' - Gustavo Robredo oepened the scoring with a precise header after receiving a cross from Hylander. GOAL!
26' - Vadern took advantage of a lazy St. Lunatics defense. Grierson followed up a Lusarreta shot and made it 1-1. GOAL!
29' - A big miss for veteran midfielder Raukko.
33' - Gustavo Robredo continues to attack with a shot.
39' - Vadern wasted no chances as Mares blasted the ball into the net after a Lusarreta pass. GOAL!
44' - A frustrated Edi Zuzul carded.
44' - Calafto's free kick was inches away.
45' - Hylander cuts in from the right wing and takes a shot but was brilliantly saved.
HALF TIME.
45' - Grierson on the break after receiving a pass from Kingston and makes it 3-1. GOAL!
49' - Hylander's second attempt but saved again.
57' - Kingston with a narrow miss as he continues to widen the gap.
57' - Robredo Subbed for Jayden Reid
64' - Kingston with another miss.
72' - Kingston Subbed for Roni Parni
77' - David Muniz misses his chance after seeing his shot go wide.
78' - Grierson with another chance but was held comfortably by Casillas.
80' - Nadarev's shot was well wide.
84' - Roni Parni on the breakaway and lobs the keeper to record an emphatic victory over St. Lunatics. GOAL!
FINAL WHISTLE.
The game was over and the dream was over for St. Lunatics too but for the Fins, their celebration has only begun. Fans came pouring into the Olimpico Stadium in Rome as they celebrated their first ever silverware after 5 seasons. As for St. Lunatics, manager Cyen could only accept the defeat but he is positive that if he had his other first team players present, it could have ended differently. He told StXtv, "We were without Tristan, Santa Cruz and Ware so we are a weakened side. However I have to admit, Vadern played very well tonight and the scoreline clearly shows who is the more deserved winner. So kudos to Jjin and his men. Now we need to get our mind back on the League and try to retain our title."

Teabags On The Go and What Bolsitas?
They were once a great side from Scotland. Coached by one of the best but when their manager decided to call it quits, the dream shattered. Hope was lost but now with Prince Eric as their manager, Titanium Teabags looks set to take the X League by storm once more. Eric made only a couple of changes in the squad in the form of Christian Lund and Grimminger. Both the Scandinavians came in good prices so Eric actually was quite a business man himself.
However, their magnificent form has been the work of their ever vigilant goalkeeper, Aaron Rymour. Already a legend in the club, he looks set to be the first player to play 200 games in the league. Tonight he starred in a first class performance against Hismamagotserved. He is the pillar of strength for the Scottish side and the fans absolutely loves him. Another played worth the mention is stalwart defender, Greger Gjovik. When Ywen left the club, the 37 year old expressed his wishes to leave the club and hang up his boots but Prince Eric was determined to ask him to sign another one year contract extension. Also a legend in the club, Gregar is a free kick specialist and a quick fullback despite his old age. Currently 8th in the league, if they keep this up, they might break the top four and kick the likes of Maibuliwa, St. Lunatics, Furtorn Forest and Marceiliacos out.

Rymour : Going Full Stretch.
When he left, he never looked back and never expected him to make a return into the game but after a month away from the game, it proved too hard for the Scot to turn down Termite-Nator's offer to manager them. Ywen was back in the game after his sudden departure from the Teabags. He renamed Termite Bolsitas de te Nuevo, "The New Teabags". This was to show his love for his former club but it left the Spanish fans puzzled but tonight's win was enough to persuade them that Ywen was the right man for the job. A convincing 3 nil win over The Pinks move the Spaniards away from the foot of the table. There is still a lot of work to be done but Ywen looks set to stay as he is said to be not interested in returning to his old stomping ground, The Tea House.

Champions League Semi Final Leg 1 & 2
This was going to be a huge game even if it was a friendly. This cup tie packed up the Asylum as St Lunatics hosted Maibuliwa in the first leg. The visitors had big expectations but the home team was not going down without a fight. The first game saw Luke Ware, Zuzul and Lilley out for the St. Lunatics while Maibuliwa had an almost fit team to pick from. The injuries proved to be a problem for the Americans as the home side failed to control the possesion in the game. Svistunov and Ryrosyuki were the stars in the first half as they dictated play for the Japanese. Viguier started instead of Sorenstam and the lanky striker was the first to trouble Casillas. As for the Americans, their first shot came after almost half an hour but Karaliopoulos's shot was never troubling Endo. Endo had very little to do in the first half. In the second half, Teralidis broke the deadlock on the 67th minute when his shot proved too hard to handle for Casillas. The Japanese continued to torment a weak St Lunatics side and the American's manager was not very happy with his team's performance. Lunatics had no more shots in the game and Maibuliwa cruised away with a hard earned away goal.
Maibuliwa players celebrating.
The second leg was played this week too as both managers agreed that they would want to get their games over with and done with. After a string of good results from both sides in the league, both are equally confident with their chances of going through. Santa Cruz started instead of Karaliopoulos and Sorenstam started instead of Viguier. Both sets of teams had a different style of play this time around and the crowds in the AvD. 53 Arena were going to be treated with a very pulsating game. The game started off with a bang as away side, St. Lunatics surged forward to find an early lead. A few early shots almost gave a scare to the home fans. Manager cyen was screaming down orders to his players even at the early minutes while manager tzelun decided to remain calm. On the 23rd minute, Santa Cruz's superior upper body strength proved to be a problem for the Maibuliwa defense. After scoring a hat-trick last night against HMGS, the big striker got into the scoresheet once more after fending off challenges from 4 Maibuliwa defenders. The away fans are not on their feet as the Americans controlled the first half. It got better for the Americans as Tristan's low drive on the 31st minute flew pass Endo with ease and the visitors are now on the driving seat.
In the second half, manager tzelun was clearly under stress and pressure but he rallied his team and gave a superb half time team talk. As for the Americans, they were complacent in the early minutes of the second half and almost gave a goal to the Japanese. However, Maibuliwa clawed one back on the 63rd minute through the quick feet of Sorenstam. The striker's shot proved too hard to handle for Casillas but the goal still does not secure a place in the finals for the Japanese. Maibuliwa had one hand on the tickets to the final on the 69th minute when Sorenstam once more took advantage over a confused St. Lunatics defense and the game is now tied 2-2. It was really an epic encounter between the giants. The goal meant that if St. Lunatics fail to score in the remaining time, Maibuliwa was on their way to the finals. Tzelun and cyen were then seen giving orders to his team. Tzelun wanted his team to tuck back and defend. He decided to defend for the next 15 minutes or so and that gave St. Lunatics a fighting chance. In the last 15 minutes, St. Lunatics were seen banging on Endo's door over and over again. On the 89th minute, Hylander whipped in an in-swinging corner and was met by Tristan's head. The ball fell to Endo but the veteran keeper failed to grab hold onto it and substitute Pantelis Karaliopoulos finished it off. The away fans went berzerk and manager cyen was seen dancing in front of his fans. An epic game. The game ended with the tickets to the finals in favor of St. Luantics.
Champions League Semi Final Leg 1
Vadern took on Furtorn Forest earlier today and the Fins were away this time. Todd Kingston continues to start for the Fins as he look to continue his fine form this season. However, a unspirited Furtorn side fielded a reliable line-up, nothing special but a decent team none-the-less. Vadern Oranje FC started the game brightly when Kingston broke away from his markers but his attempt was well wide. The first half was almost one sided as Furtorn had the least amount of chances while Vadern were left to wonder why they had'nt taken the lead. In the second half, Abusibah came close for the Arabs but his attempt was well handled by Odhelius who was playing instead of first choice Zahovic. Kingston continued to impress as his bicycle kick went inches away from the goal. The Vadern manager was seen covering his face countless times as his team squandered chances over and over again but his wait paid off as Kingston slotted home a cool finish past a helpless Fekmoor. Dale Smithies was the culprit as his mazy run proved too hard to handle for the Arabian defense. The Fins are now a goal ahead in the semi-finals as the final whistle was blown. This away goal will prove to be very useful for the Fins.

Hanging By A Thread
It looks like manager eujin of Termite-Nator is going to have a rough week after the club's board has lost patience with the inactive manager. After a brilliant start to last season's campaign, the manager got involved in other commitments and everything was on a downfall ever since. However, for Termite-Nator FC fans, there is good news. Experienced manager Ywen has officially declared his interest on taking over eujin as he sees it as an opportunity to come back into the league. He has also stated that it would be a good challenge but he has yet to receive any formal offers from the club.
A Termite-Nator FC official said, "Eujin will be given some time to recover from his recent bad form. His next game against the Fighting Mongoose will be crucial as if he fails to get all 3 points, we will consider our options."
The statement suggests that Ywen could be offered the job as early as this Tuesday unless eujin could get his team to start playing again. However even if he does win this Tuesday, his future in the club is hanging by a thread. Reports has already started flowing in that Termite's chairman is already in Scotland holding discussions with Ywen for a possible return to the X League.
There are also rumors floating around that Ywen will only be using Termite-Nator FC as a stepping stone as he plots a monumental return to the Titanium Teabags, the club where he won his first title. The Teabag's chairman was interviewed earlier today about the rumor and he had this to say, "Prince Eric is doing well for us. We play a different style of football now but the players are coping. I am well aware about the recent happenings. It would be great to see Ywen back in the game. Possibilities about him coming back? I wouldn't say no but for now, there is no contact between us and we are just good friends. However, I will be keeping an eye on his progress if he does take over Termite-Nator FC."

Rocchini For Picante
Kibosh have acquired the service of midfielder Filippio Rocchini. The 28 year old arrived at the team training ground and has passed his medical. He is expected to join his teammates in training tomorrow.
"Filippio was brought into the club to help strengthen the midfield. He will also provide experience and help the young players in the middle of the field. He was a proven talent at his old club Fiorentina and I hope he will fit in well here,"said Jeff.c. The player was bought for 2 million econs.
The arrival of Rocchini followed with the swift departure of veteran Antero Picante. The 29 year old was let go and will be joining another club after his unhappy time at Kibosh. "Antero talked to me about his issues and I agreed that a transfer was best for both parties. He was a big part of our team last year and the players will miss him but we will have to focus on this season,"said Jeff.c.

Termite-Nated
After a string of horrible results, manager of Termite-Nator FC looks like he could be heading for the exits of the club. He has already been given the dreaded vote of confidence yesterday after his side fell to St. Lunatics. Things are starting to look bleak for them as they prepare for their next game against newly promoted Fighting Mongooses. Lucas Wilson is reportedly unhappy with how the club is being run at the moment. He said, "The manager is always not around but when he is he does his job. However we cannot to be led by someone that goes AWOL whenever he feels like it."
Reports has also suggest that ex-Titanium Teabags manager, Yi-Wen is being targeted by the club chairman to replace the current manager of Termite-Nator FC. The board has revealed that they would do anything to bring the experienced Scots man to the club. They have also said that they would go to the extent of renaming the club, stadium and even change the kit colors in an attempt to lure the Scottish manager from retirement.
Yi-Wen has also recently made his interest to return to managerial duties known after releasing a short statement in the news. The league website has also jumped into this story and hope to get the latest updates on it.

FOR vs VAD - Champions League Update
This has goals written all over it and it was not disappointing one bit as both sides go strength to strength. Forever United has a full squad to pick from but Formigal is still ineligible to play for his side. As for Vadern, Blatherwick is still out with a long term injury and this time, was replaced by Delgado instead of the inexperienced Korkatti. Vadern's line up is as shown in a recent statement by the team manager. Odhelius starts in goal for Vadern too as Zahovic was left on the bench.
The game started off with a bang as Kingston almost made it into the score sheet with an early header on the first minute but things got worse for Vadern as Forever United's first attack led to the opening goal after a slip up by club captain Atso Honka. Etxabe capitalised on the Fin's mistake and slotted the ball pass Odhelius. The score is now 4 - 1 to Forever United. only 120 seconds passed and a goal was scored already. However, Kingston equalised 5 minutes later with a header and that goal pulled one back for the Fins. Manager Jjin is still as stiff as a stone back at the touchline. Vadern then had most of the attempts but was neutralised by Nieto. On the 15th minute, Raukko slipped the ball to Roni Parni who did not hesitate to pull the trigger and his long range attempt proved to be too hard for Nieto to handle. The Fins are now just one goal away from pulling the game level. The score is now 4 - 3. Before the break, Forever United's Zarza tormented Delgado on the left wing and his cross met Mondragon's head but was handled well by Odhelius. Half time and the players head to the dressing rooms.
The second half started badly for the Fins as a spirited Forever United stormed the Vadern defense. Ekblom's sizzling dribbling skills almost ended up with a goal but after passing 2 defenders, his shot was parried away by Odhelius. On the 50th minute, Samuel Linne's pass found Mondragon and the Spanish was on a break away. He had no problems facing a one on one with Odhelius as he scored his goal to bring the aggregate to 5 - 3. At this point, manger Jjin was losing his temper as he started to shout orders to his players. Vadern tried to push in several occasions and their persistant attitude gave the visitors another goal on the 61st minute. Dale Smithies took a scrappy shot in the penalty area and his goal gave the visitors some hope. With just one goal behind, manager Jjin brought in Grierson to finish the job as he replaced Roni Parni. However, the Spanish proved too hot to handle as Ekblom scored his team another goal thus giving the home side a two goal advantage again. The game started to lose control as goals kept on coming and it as definitely one of the craziest games everyone have ever seen. The visitors were not keen on giving up as they continued to push forward and eventually they won a free kick after Lusaretta was brought down outside the penalty box on the 82nd minute. Gino Calafato stepped up and carefully whipped the ball. The ball spun into the top corner and the Fins are now once again a goal behind! Grierson had a quiet game after coming in as he hardly had a touch on the ball at all. Mondragon on the other hand was playing like as if he was possesed. The Spaniard continued to fire in shots and made Odhelius work even until the last few minutes. On the 86th minute, Ekblom almost sealed up the game but his shot in the penalty box was too high. On the 88th minute, Calafato whipped in a corner and Kingston rose above his markers to head the ball past Nieto. The score is now 6 - 6 on aggregate but Vadern had the away goal advantage and they were confident on going through. However, that did not stop the Spaniards from attacking in the final seconds of the game. On the 90th minute after the restart, Zarza was quick to attack Delgado's side once more and his cross was brought down by Mondragon but his stinging shot was deflected out as the it hit a Vadern defender. The referee blows the final whistle to bring an end to an epic game. Vadern has made it through to the next round. The Fins will now have to face Furtorn Forest FC in the semi-finals.

A24 vs STX - Champions League Update
St. Lunatics's recent defeat has made their team look shaky coming into tonight's game. Alien 24 on the other hand enjoyed their first 3 points of the season after winning their first league game a couple of days ago. However, bad news for Alien 24 as Mcintyre is still out with an injury and as for St. Lunatics, Edi Zuzul and Matthew Lilley both are not fit yet to start. David Muniz starts for the Americans as Danijel Nadarev was left on the bench.
The game started with a fast pace as the away side look to make their lead wider. They were one nil winners in the first leg but early shots from Karaliopoulos was a sign that the manager wanted a better lead. Hollingdale's 15th minute header almost gave the home side a goal but was well wide. Things look good for the away side as they had majority of the possesion and looked dangerous everytime they were on the offensive. The absence of their enigmatic captain, Broderick McIntyre made Alien 24 vulnerable to Hylander and Muniz's runs on the wings. The first half ended in a stale mate as both teams head to the dressing room.
In the second half, things took a while to actually bring some excitement to the game but it was Alien 24 that broke the dead lock on the 55th minute. A beautifully taken corner kick met Mishre's head and they brought the aggregate score to one-one. Cyen was not pleased with how his striker was performing and Santa Cruz was brought on to replace Karaliopoulos. Hollingdale was once again the danger man as his half volley almost put them ahead in the game. On the 78th minute, Santa Cruz gave scored a crucial goal and literally sent the away fans into raptures. His header met Muniz's cross and Steele could do very little to keep the ball out of the net. The visitors are now ahead once more. Things looked bleak for the home side as they lost important balls in the midfield and that eventually led to St. Lunatic's second goal of the game. Artie Voight's pass found Tristan in the penalty box and the 25 year old put the game beyond doubt with a classy finish. The game was done and dusted after the Puerto Rican scored his team's second of the night. The referee calls for full time and St. Lunatics will now meet Maibuliwa in the semi-finals in two weeks time.

MBL vs MARC - Champions League
The Japanese are enjoying their best football after years of development and this year looks the brightest for them as they are gunning for a treble this season. Having already captured the Charity Shield in pre-season, Marc United looks to be the only hurdle left for the Japs as they inch closer to the Champions League Final. For the French, they have a point to proof after being ridiculed by a majority of the managers in the league. Kaixian was a man of a mission.
The Maibuliwa side was still missing club captain Hayato Fuse so Culebras stepped in once more. Sorenstam was also dropped for the game as Viguier was given the thumbs up. Svistunov was also left on the bench as he was replaced by Naoki Amano. Away side, Marc United swapped Chuter for Oosting as they wanted to change their approach to their game. This game is brough to you by Premier : The Premier Tissue.
The game started off well as both sides were equally matched. The ball spent most of its time in the middle of the field but possesion-wise, Marceiliacos had more of it. The absence of Svistunov has proven to be a problem for the home side tonight. Crowley was quick to make a mark on the game after diving into a rough tackle on Yusuki which forced the referee to show him the yellow card as early as the 5th minute. Alfonsi then started off a series of passing of passes which resulted in him having a pop on the Maibuliwa goal but Endo was alert and caught the ball with ease. Time passed and the Marceiliacos offense found it hard to break the brilliant defensive partnership of Preetnav and Yamagishi. Maibuliwa then had a couple of decent chances from both Viguier and Ryrosyuki before the match came to half time.
No changes in the second half as both sides took the field in a more spirited condition. Marceiliacos had a few more shots from Duff and Oosting. Oosting played very well tonight and almost made it into the score-sheet in numerous ocassions. Teralidis had a rare chance in the game when Maibuliwa caught the French on the break but his shot was parried away by Hoyle was doing well in the Marceiliacos goal. On the 70th minute Crowley was once again involved in a scuffle with a Maibuliwa player, this time Viguier and the referee had enough of the talismanic midfielder. Reggie Crowley was sent straight into the dressing room after a second booking. Surprisingly the sending off did not stop the French from attacking. On the 77th minute, Adelof which replaced Bozikovic after the sending off whipped in a cross which caused havoc in the defense. An unlucky Yamagishi accidently pushed the ball into his own net and the visitors were now a goal up. Manager Kaixian was screaming out orders to his players to keep attacking as his side needed just one more goal to bring the game into extra time. In the dying minutes, Maibuliwa almost buried the game as substitute Amadeus Sorenstam's cracking shot rattled the woodwork. The French then counter attacked the Japanese side as Duff bombarded down the left wing. Duff decided to cut into the penalty area instead of whipping in a cross. With just seconds to spare, Kyle Duff pulled the trigger as he cut into the Maibuliwa defense. Endo was rooted to the spot as the ball flew over him and crashed into the top left post. Kyle Duff could not believe his effort didn't go in as he covered his face in disappointment. The referee blew the final whistle and the game was over.

FFC vs GAL - Champions League
This was going to be a tight affair be it a cup final or even a friendly game. Furtorn Forest FC has had one of the clubs worse starts this season. Lying 9th in the league table now puts the pressure on the manager coming into this evening's game. Galaxy FC on the other hand was on a good run of results as their latest win over the Pinks see them move to 5th spot last night.
This evening's Champions league game is definitely a game to be remembered. Galaxy FC was without Peters and Sukasame and that meant Munoz and Rivas had to step in again while Hedges started tonight instead of Alarcon. For the Arabians, Kjellberg replaced Stollman in this return leg. The aggregate before the game was 3-1 to the away side, Galaxy FC but their weakened side without Peters saw them having to fend off shots from Abusibah and Sveden in the early minutes. It was clear that manager Calvin Tan was in no mood for jokes from his players. Xeno on the other hand kept his calm. Bashar Sofi played a good game and he made his presence felt on the 21st minute when he whipped in a ball from the right wing which met Abusibah head and resulted in a goal. The home fans were jubilant as Abusibah reeled away to celebrate. Iker Cruz almost found the net a couple of minutes later when broke free from his markers but his shot lacked power. Sofi continued to torment the weakened Galaxy side with his nimble feet and even got a shot on target before the final whistle.
The second half promised a much more competitive half as Galaxy FC came out stronger this time round. Hedges also got a piece of the action but he was lacking accuracy. Sveden had his fair share of chances but too was unable to convert them. He also got involved in a scrappy tackle on Rivas which saw him seeing yellow in the 72nd minute. The ball was seen mostly in the middle of the park as both sides had trouble breaking the opposition's defense. Alberca was then brought in to replace Sveden on the 75th minute. On the 80th minute, the home fans went wild once again as Wennerstrand tapped in a cross from Sofi which saw the home side lead by 2 goals to nil. If this carries on, the Arabs will turn out to have made the perfect comeback. Galaxy FC continued to counter attack the Arabians. In the dying seconds of the game, Juanito sent Cruz free with a slicing pass which saw the experienced striker going one on one with Jaleel Fekmoor. He chipped the ball and the crowd went silent for a moment but when the ball clipped off the post the Arabian fans were back to their jubilant mood again. Final whistle is blown and the Arabs are through to the semi-finals after winning on this stage through the away goals rule.

MARC vs MBL - Champions League
Definitely one of the games to watch in the first leg. Maibuliwa visited the French side in this fixture. Dennis Harrell was present but could only watch from the stands as he will not be eligible for the Champions League competition. Marc United had a full squad to pick from in the game.
Hayato Fuse was also out from the game after suffering a long term injury. Culebras stepped in for the experienced Japanese. Sorenstam also starts while Viguer was left on the bench. Marc United played a traditional 4-5-1 formation which sees Simu, Crowly, Alfonsi, Duff and Bozikovic across the midfield. The game started with a bang as Himesh Sawant's header was tipped over the bar by Leighton Hoyle. Sorenstam then had a couple of attempts on the 21st and 25th minute. Marc United knew they had to improve their game and Alfonsi headed the ball towards Endo but was held. Sorenstam then broke free from the clutches of Christian Eder and slotted the ball past Hoyle on the 29th minute after a good pass from Yusuki. The Swede opens his account in the team and celebrated by kissing the club badge. Chuter then had an attempt blocked by Endo on the 36th minute. 2 minutes later, Simu's stinging shot gave Endo a bit of a problem as the Japanese could only push the ball out for a corner kick. Before the whistle was blown for half time, Ryrosyuki had a half volley blocked by Hoyle. Ryrosyuki looked dangerous in the game and looked like scoring in several occasions.
On the second half, Ryrosyuki's hard work was paid off as Teralidis played a nice ball to him and he finished it off with class 2 minutes after the restart. The Japanese side continued to bombard the French with shots from Sawant and Sorenstam. Oosting then came in to replace Chuter as the manager plans to change his attacking capabilities. Duff had a few shots on target but Endo was clearly on form tonight. Oosting had his only chance on the 87th minute but it did not bother the keeper. Duff's injury time shot was also punched away by Endo and the game then ended 2-0 to the visitors.
The man of the match was Kiki Ryrosyuki who dictated the Japanese midfield and offense.

STX vs A24 - Champions League
The league champions hosted Alien 24 in their leg one fixture. Alien 24 manager was not confident with the game but his players were as they plan something special for their fans. STX's victory against the Guns yesterday was a morale boost and they look to claim all 3 points from the Brits.
The game started without Pantelis Karaliopoulos for STX and Broderick McIntyre for Alien 24 as both were out with an injury. It only took 9 minutes for Huntington to get his first shot on target. The game was unexpectedly open as both sides had equal chances in the first half. Hollingdale had a lot of chances but could not convert them while Tristan and Robredo could only see their attempts held by Steele. The first half ended with both teams tied on nil nil. On the second half, Pique came in for Finley as it was clear that Yen Chuah wanted to stop the Alien offense from advancing. Despite making that change, Huntington was once again threatening the STX defense with a few attempts. Voight even had a rare chance in the game on the 60th minute. On the 66th minute, the away fans were disappointed when Ashoory Barkho brought down Robredo in the penalty area. Hylander cooly converted the penalty and they were a goal up. Robredo then had a shot blocked on the 76th minute. Alien 24 found it hard to break the American's defense in the dying minutes but Portoles almost drew the side level with his shot but Casillas remained clam to push the looping shot over the bar.
The game was a boring affair but the away side played very well and will look to score goals in their second leg when they are home. The man of the match was awarded to Harvey Huntington for his vision and sturdiness in the game.

GAL vs FFC - Champions League
Leg one between Galaxy FC and Furtorn FC was a interesting one as both are considered underdogs in this competition. However both managers are eager to progress as much as they can in the competition.
Galaxy FC was without Kob Sukasame as he was out with an injury while a shock exit by Yoshida left the Furtorn Forest FC defense depleted. Krishna filled in the for Yoshida while Rivas replaced Sukasame for the Spaniards. Rivas took only 6 minutes to make his presence felt as his shot skimmed over the bar and stunned the visitors. Rivas was once again in action on the 18th minute when he had yet another shot but was held by Jaleel Fekmoor. The home team looked comfortable as they controlled most of the possesion and never looked like conceding a goal but Furtorn came close to opening the score when Sveden beat the offside trap but his shot was well wide. On the 23rd minute, after a series of nice passes from the Galaxy Fc, Alarcon grabbed the first goal after a pass from Juanito. Things continued to look good for the home team 10 minutes later when Chumillo's cross met Cruz's header which doubled their lead. The looping header left Fekmoor rooted to the spot. Manager Calvin of Furtorn was not impressed as he shouted orders to his players. Sveden was quick on the break to follow up a shot from Alberca and they finally clawed one back. The score was 2-1 on the 40th minute when Sveden scored. Alarcon continued to punish the weakened Arabian defense but Fekmoor stood his ground to stop Alarcon. On the 43rd minute, Chumilla scored a beautiful goal after receiving a pass from team mate Enrique Alarcon. They were 2 goals up again.
The second half proved to be a snore as Furtorn Forest controlled most of the possesion but failed to convert their chances. Shots from Biernat, Sveden and Sinan lacked venom as they saw their efforts fizz away from the goal. Galaxy FC sealed a first leg win after an emphatic performance by Alarcon. Enrique Alarcon was then awarded the man of the match award.

VOFC vs FOR - Champions League
The leg one of the Champions League kicked off a few hours ago and here are the results. First fixture was between Vadern Oranje FC vs Forever United.
The Fins is now considered a struggling side after 2 defeats in the league. Manager Jjin is confident that his side will come out winners in this first leg affair with Forever United. Things went well for the Fins as Kingston scored a brilliant bicycle kick after receiving a cross from team mate Delgado. It was one nil on the 32nd minute. Forever United had their fair share of attempts from club captain Zarza. The winger caught the Vadern defense off guard a few times and managed to beat the offside trap a few times. After the Kingston's opening goal, Forever United took only one minute to get the game back in leveled terms. Etxabe slotted the ball into the empty net after Zahovic parried away Mondragon's early shot. Jjin was then seen pushing his players on to attack more as he wanted the win dearly wherelese Yew Jian just kept his cool his team's first goal did not even put a smile on his face. Last season's top goal scorer, Grierson had his first shot of the game on the 41st minute but was parried away by Nieto. On the 42nd minute, Korkatti who was filling in for the injured Blatherwick gave the ball away cheaply to Santiago Uriz, who continued on and slipped in a pass to Mondragon who cooly put the ball beyong Zahovic's reach and they were now a goal up. Forever United now started to play the passing game as they held most of the posession and refused to push forward. The half time whistle was blown and the teams go into the dressing room.
Adalberto Formigal was present and was sitting at the bench during the game. He was delighted with the team as he is confident that he will get to play in the Champions League soon. The home side started the second half strong as they had attempts from Winter who replaced Fundell during the interval. Grierson had yet another decent chance denied by Nieto on the 53rd minute. The Vadern Oranje defense was once again tested on the 56th minute when Ekblom surged forward and attacked. The Spaniards continued to exploit the weak left side of Vadern and it paid off. Mondragon scored from a beautiful half volley to put the game to bed. The rest of the game was disappointing for the home side as Forever retained possesion but Vadern still got a few shots on target from Kingston and Grierson.
The game ends at 1-3, Forever won the first leg but Vadern plans to come back stronger in the second leg. Man of the match for the game was Miguel Mondragon.

He grabbed one of the balls but eventually changed his mind and went for a different one instead. He passed the ball to a league official who then proceeds to open it. Vadern Oranje FC will be scheduled to play Forever United in their first game of the Champions League.

A Fairy Tale
It looks like the excitement in the league just is beginning. Going Green FC was once again at the top of their game as they beat one time high flying Furtorn Forest FC. The Greeks were not shy in front of their opposition's goal as they had more shots then the Arabs. However Asterios Papandreou played a quiet game as he could not find the net. Panagoulis and Tavlaridis's goals were enough to cancel out Abusibah's early goal. The Greeks are now high flying and they will need a whole lot more than luck to face French side Marc United.
Marc United tonight were unlucky when they were taken down by Kibosh Wanderers. The French played like sissies and their weird style of play made them pay. Kibosh looked comfortable on the offensive and could have settled for one point but Bujia'a solitary goal gave them 3 points. Their impressive start has also boosted by their impressive defensive record so far. Only conceding once made them a side serious about their chances on qualifying for the Champions League.

The Start
Season 5 started with more surprises as the lesser sides shocked the big guns. Vadern Oranje was the first top side to taste the cruelty of defeat as Greek side Going Green FC was merciless up front as they escaped with a narrow victory over the Fins. The Greek had a slow start to their campaign last season but tonight's win will prove to be crucial for them as they plan a new start for this season. Asterios Papandreou was the star of the night as he grabbed both goals and sent his side to 6th place after the opening game.
Papandreou : Greek Power
There are also real thrillers in the opening fixtures. Both Galaxy FC and Fishnette United went home with 3 points after scrapping home a win after late winners from their players. Fishnette United's Jaiwon Ahn grabbed this week's headlines as he scored a brilliant hat-trick as a warning to the X League that the Koreans mean business this season. Now both Fishnette and Galaxy take 4th and 5th place respectively.

A league official said, "The admin has decided to restart the season as soon as tonight. With the new season, we introduce two new sides, The Fighting Mongooses and Yaoshaw. A team from the Faroe Islands and a team from China."
The league now features 20 teams and there will be the official Champions League this season, consisting of the top 8 of last season. Here are the 8 teams involved.
St. Lunatics, Maibuliwa, Marc United, Furtorn Forest, Vadern Oranje, Alien 24, Galaxy FC, Forever United
The first round draw for the champions league will be drawn this weekend. The rules applies to the knockout system rules.
However the big question is, can St. Lunatics retain their title for the 2nd time and if not, who will be the first to topple them ever since their run of glory for the past 2 seasons?

St. Lunatics Champions Once More
The title says it all. St. Lunatics has made it into the history books as the first ever team to retain a title in the X League. Having battled a full season and 34 games later, they scored 90 goals while conceding only 25 and made it to the top of the table. They beat rivals, Maibuliwa, Vadern and Pinks to the title and it was definitely one of the seasons to be remembered.
Club captain Jermaine Finley was absolutely to be part of the team when we interviewed him, "Its just great to achieve this feat with this Lunatic. I've been here all my life and it was about time we got this. We clearly deserved it."
Danijel Nadarev also had his thoughts as he was interviewed, "I'm 29 and I've helped the club win back to back titles. What more could I ask? I am also excited with the prospect of playing in the Champions League next season. This season's Champions League was a test and it went well so I have no doubts that the league admin will bring it back. My next goal is probably to win the Champions League next season then. This season was a very stable one if you ask me. We were at the top most of the time but all of this would not be possible without consistency. Our boss has always stressed on the importance on keeping our feet on the ground and playing our best in every game."
When asked about the prospect of claiming the X League Footballer of the Year award, he said, "It would be great to win an individual award considering the fact that I missed a small portion of the season because of an injury. Last year Love won it and it would be an honor to win it this year. However, this is a team game and I would gladly give my award away if it gives my team 3 points."
Nadarev has also been shortlisted to win 2 other awards, the League's Golden Boot and the league's Silver Boot for most assists, "Currently I tie with Kiki from Maibuliwa. He is a young lad and I think if he wins it, it would be a major lift for his career. As for the Golden Boot award, I do not think it is possible as I am currently behind two top notch strikers in the form of Jason Hupkes and Tommy Grierson. Gazzetas have a considerably easy game tonight against the Barretts so I reckon Hupkes to grab a goal. As for Tommy, he will be facing HMGS in a home game. Vadern are incredibly strong and consistent in home games so expect no surprises from Tommy as he will definitely make it into the scoresheet. As for me, I'll stick to supplying the balls to the likes of Tristan and Santa Cruz."
Next was the manager's thoughts on next season and possible signings? "I don't know. Probably not or maybe one or two more. I've got a strong side now and if they pass the pre-season trainings with ease, I do not think we would need to dive into the market anytime soon. We have youth and experience in the side. David(Muniz) and Matt(Lilley) are definitely ones to watch season. Eddy(Zuzul) hardly got a taste of the league yet so expect a lot more from him next season. As for the strikers, Santa Cruz, Robredo and Stanley(Young) are established finishers so why should I get anyone else."

Gustavo Robredo : Watch him soar.
So ends yet another chapter in the X League. This season has been a roller coaster ride for everyone. Exciting yet emotional. Players and managers went a bit mental and even got physical. New teams came and old teams struggled but there were those that stayed consistent. New stars were born and old stars are immortalized forever. Goals were scored but nothing beats the sound of cheering of fans and the cries of victory from the players themselves. It was 34 games but it came and gone so fast. Now everyone looks to the horizon for the coming season. Players are already hungry for more glory while some are struggling to keep up. Whichever it is, it is sure to be action packed in Season 6 of the X League and the X Champions League, comprising of the best and elite sides from the League. But for now, the X League trophy returns to the Asylum as the Lunatics' reign over the league continues for yet another season.
Back at the AsylumVadern All Grier-ed Up
Earlier today, Jjin made it clear that he wants Tommy Grierson to give his all to win the Golden Boot and with just one goal behind leader Jason Hupkes, Grierson was relishing his chances. In the pre-match interview, Sportscenter managed to catch up with Grierson and he was feeling confident, "I am feeling very good with this. Hupkes is a great professional and if I were to miss out in the title, I would still be pleased but still the gaffer wanted me to not only win the game tonight but also to be the best at what I do."
Both Vadern and Gazzetas had their games played at the same time and both Hupkes and Grierson started in the game. It was going to be a great night as fans were seen holding portable radios to keep themselves updated on the happenings on each other games. The Finnish fans were in shock as it only took the flying Dutchman, Jason Hupkes 5 minutes to get into the scoresheet. However sighs were quickly switched to cheers as it turned out that Hupkes goal was disallowed.
The cheering Finnish crowd clearly gave Vadern a boost as Blatherwick was first to score for them. Things start to get worse for the Dutch side when Jason Hupkes was badly injured by Rui Drent. The news quickly went to Varedan Park and the fans continued to cheer again. That was the moment when Tommy Grierson knew it was his cue and it was time he stopped giving "warnings" to the opposition keeper. After being disappointed by Roni Burla over and over again, Grierson finally leveled Hupkes goal tally on the 69th minute. The crowd went wild.
Hismamagotserved was a victim tonight as the keeper was made into a target practice for the fins. Kingston and his teammates had a pop at Burla but on the 88th minute, that was when history was made. Never in Xpert League history that anyone has even overtaken another player on the goal tally on the final game and Tommy Grierson did it with a well placed header.

League Legends
As the season continues to progress, it has come to the League Admin's attention that there will be league legends pretty soon. The first to be recognized as the club and league legend will be non other than Aaron Rymour of the Titanium Teabags. Others will be like Pink idols, Neresuan Suksomkit and Sutee Sonpoo. Vadern and Broke Brothas captains, Atso Honka and Kosoko Sos too. Forever United will also have their share of this momentous event in the form of their faithful keeper, Benito Nieto.
Aaron Rymour, or better known as the Scottish Iker Casillas, the 26 year old goalkeeper is yet to be at his best yet and already he is a firm favorite to the club fans. Having played under manager Ywen for 5 seasons, his career seems to be getting better and better. However things are looking to be running bad for him ever since manager Ywen decided to take a temporary leave from the club. Could this mean European giants Liverpool, AC Milan and Real Madrid finally make a move for the talented shot stopper?
The Pinks fantastic duo, Neresuan Suksomkit and Sutii Sonpoo. Both of them has been playing for their dear manager, VegeKia since the formation of the club. They have recently pledged themselves to the club by signing a 3 year contract. With their recent surge of form the duo looks set to propel the club to the top 8 and finally challenge for the title next season. In another news, Leekpai Noppachorn is already dubbed the new Steven Gerrard of the club and will look set to emulate his mentor, Neresuan Suksomkit and lead the club next season.
Club captains Atso Honka and Kosoko Sos will also be inducted into the league's first few legends in a couple of weeks time unless injuries were to plague them. Honka has been Mr. Vadern for many years now and is a firm favorite with the manager. Manager Jjin has always admired Honka's ability as a player and as a person. Formerly a left back, manager Jjin made Honka into a solid center back. The Finnish international is confident that next season the team will soar to great heights as the manager promises changes in the club next season.
As for Kosoko Sos, the aggressive captain is currently in the front line to lead his team's revolution under new manager Jono Chuha. The 25 year old has also one of the most Xpert Elevens under his belt. Many teams has tried to sign him but scouts that travel to the Stadium of Fright would never make it back home. The 25 year old is a Broke Brothas player through and through. Money can never tempt him away from the club. Sos and his defensive partner Julius"The Ceasar" Olajengbesi has been the rock of their defense for 5 years now and has always been the envy of managers around the league.

Featured Story : Lucked Out
Finally the defending champion's amazing winning run came to halt after they crashed to a 2-1 defeat in the hands of the Pinks. St. Lunatics had the majority of chances but the injury of Benny Jansen caused them the game. Dante Arregui was sent in to play as a makeshift defender and that was the turning point of the game.
Manager Cyen was disappointed that their winning run had to come to a halt with such unfortunate incident. He said, "If we were beaten in a fair game, I would have taken the defeat much better but this defeat is a hard one to swallow. Bazylowski was not fit so he was not included into the bench. Jermaine is also still out with an injury so we had no backup defenders. Other than that I am still very pleased with how my players performed tonight. Muniz had a shot and Young was always very dangerous in the Pinks penalty box. He needs to get better if he is wants a place in the team"
This loss and Furtorn's win sees the gap now narrow to just 8 points but manager Cyen is not going to panic just yet, he said, "We are still 8 points a drift from them. It was also good to hear that Maibuliwa drew their game so that gives us more breathing room. Furtorn is chasing up so we cannot afford to slack off anymore. We have Titanium Teabags next so I will ask the boys not to dwell on tonight's defeat anymore and instead, look forward to getting back into winning ways."

Fishnette FC came back with a bang after Davids made an emotional return to the club earlier this week. The players obviously got their spirit back by winning their game tonight. Hilding Brandstrom's 88th minute goal sealed them the win and that sees them sit comfortably in 7th place, just a couple of point behind 4th place Marc United and Gazzetas de Sparta.
Their manager Davids was absent from the club for a good 2 weeks because of personal matters but now that he had his problems all sorted out, the enigmatic manager finally made his return and it was at a very crucial time. The league has just passed mid season and these are the games that really matter now.

Futorn Forest FC continues their amazing hunt for the title after they recorded their 12th win of the season by beating Kibosh County tonight with 2 goals to nil. Bashar Sofi's opener totally demoralized the Kibosh contingent and ever since the opening goal, Furtorn was comfortable through out the game. Sveden scored later on to seal all 3 points for the Arabians.
However, their win came with a price as they lost 2 players to injury tonight. Yoshida and Bennett had to come off after they were involved in a scuffle with Kibosh players. Manager Calvin looked pretty displeased with how the Kibosh players played tonight but he was pleased with the outcome of the game nonetheless. Their win puts them on the main seat to catch up to runaway leaders St. Lunatics as they are now just 8 points away after the defending champions failed to win the Pinks in another fixture tonight.
